Bioethanol and electric versions need no chimney; every Naked Flame model still hangs on its own steel flue. Gas and wood versions vent through the roof and must be installed by a qualified installer to the building rules where you live. We will confirm what your fire needs before you order.

Finishes
Shell in matte black, matte white or stainless steel. Pedestal in matte black, matte white, stainless steel, copper or brass.
Installation and safety
The painted finishes are for indoor use. Cocoon says the stainless model can be used outside, but store it inside and out of rain and salt air. Use bioethanol made for fireplaces, and only refuel once the flame is out and the burner is cold.

Which fuel should I choose?
Every Naked Flame fire comes in bioethanol, gas, wood or electric. Bioethanol and electric suit homes with no chimney or gas supply. Gas suits homes with a gas supply and needs a licensed gasfitter. The wood version is an open-fronted fire that many New Zealand urban areas do not allow, so check with your council. Tell us about the house and we will help you choose.
Do I need a chimney?
No chimney is needed for bioethanol or electric. Every Naked Flame model still hangs on its own 219 mm steel flue. Gas and wood versions vent through the roof and need a qualified installer, following the building rules where you live.
Will it fit my ceiling?
Choose a flat or pitched ceiling fitting when you order. Send us your ceiling height and pitch and we will confirm the fit before your order is placed.
How much heat does it give off?
On bioethanol, the Naked Flame models give 3.35 to 4.4 kW, the Cocoon Aeris 3 kW and the Iconic 900 5.5 kW. Each needs a minimum room size, listed on the product page. Call 0800 468 836 for gas, wood and electric figures for your room.
