Planika suspended fireplace NZ: What to know before you buy

The Planika Pillar is an automatic bioethanol fireplace that hangs from the ceiling, priced at NZ$21,330 in New Zealand. It fills itself from a built-in pump, runs from an app, remote or touch panel with six flame levels and a child lock, and needs a 230 V mains connection.

What makes the Pillar different

  • Automatic fuel pump. No pouring fuel into a hot burner by hand.
  • App, remote and touch control. Six flame levels and a child lock.
  • Made to your ceiling. The suspended section is built to your ceiling height, with one module up to 2,400 mm.
  • Star-shaped burner in a black powder coat finish.

Fuel

Planika specifies plant-based bioethanol at 95 to 96.6% and does not allow scented or gel fuel. Check with us before you order fuel for a Planika fire.

Installation

  • The Pillar needs a 230 V mains connection.
  • The upper section weighs up to 50 kg and fixes to the ceiling structure.
  • It is for indoor use only.
  • We confirm heat output, tank size and minimum room size for your configuration with your quote.

Pillar or a manual bioethanol fire?

Choose the Pillar if you want push-button control and automatic refuelling. If you would rather have a lower price and a sculptural form, the manual bioethanol Sphere, Curve 90 and Iconic 900 hang from the ceiling with no chimney. Compare them in the bioethanol suspended range.
