A Guide to Choosing a Suspended Fireplace

A suspended fireplace is both a heating appliance and an architectural element. The right choice depends on the room, the desired flame experience and the practical requirements of the installation.
Start with the scale of the room
Consider ceiling height, room volume, sightlines and the amount of visual presence you want the fireplace to have. Compact forms such as the Curve 90 and Sphere can suit more restrained spaces, while larger designs such as Curve 120 or Orbit create greater architectural impact in generous interiors.
Choose the fuel technology
Across the Naked Flame range, selected models are available in bioethanol, gas, wood and electric configurations. Curve 90, Curve 120, Orbit, Sphere and Silo can be specified across all four fuel types. Cocoon Aeris, Iconic 900 and Pillar are bioethanol models.
Think about the ceiling
A suspended fireplace needs to be planned as part of the architecture. Ceiling structure, ceiling pitch, finished ceiling height and the required mounting arrangement should be considered early. Select the finish
Finish changes the way the fireplace sits within the material palette of the room. Selected Naked Flame models are available in Black Powdercoat, Corten Steel, Brushed Stainless Steel and Polished Stainless Steel, while Cocoon Aeris has its own body and pole finish combinations.
Plan the installation before ordering
Technical dimensions, installation instructions, clearances and local requirements should be reviewed before purchase. If you are working with an architect, designer or installer, involve them early so the selected model can be coordinated with the building structure and services.
